Cow causes deadly crash along New Mexico interstate
New Mexico State Police say a cow in the road caused a crash that killed two people over the holiday weekend. According to NMSP, a commercial motor vehicle was traveling east on Interstate 40 just east of Santa Rosa when it struck a cow in the roadway Friday afternoon.After hitting the cow, the CMV, driven by 50-year-old Jorge Felix Martinez of Orlando, Florida, left the roadway, hit a guardrail and overturned. Martinez and his passenger, 30-year-old Travis Ruiz Pizarro of Puerto Rico, were both pronounced dead on the scene. The crash investigation is being handled by NMSP.
