NORMAN, Okla. — Just one day after University of Oklahoma head football coach Lincoln Riley announced his departure from the Sooners, OU quarterback Spencer Rattler announced he is entering the transfer portal.
Rattler posted on Twitter saying in part, “Thank you to every teammate and coach these last three seasons...At this time, I would like to announce that I have decided to enter the transfer portal to continue my academic and athletic career. Than you again, Oklahoma. I will miss you.”
Lincoln Riley announced Sunday he was leaving the Sooners to become the next head coach at USC, a school Rattler was recruited by in before he ultimately chose to go with the Sooners.
OU announced Sunday night former long-time Sooner head coach Bob Stoops will be the interim head coach for OU. The University of Oklahoma is having a press conference at 3 pm Monday. FOX23 Sports Anchor Nathan Thompson will be there and we will stream that live.
