The Buffalo Sabres announced the signing of forward Mark Jankowski yesterday, who had been playing with the Rochester Americans on an AHL contract. It’s a one-year deal worth $750,000.
The 27-year-old center scored five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 13 games with Rochester. To make room for Jankowski, forward Arttu Ruotsalainen was sent to the Amerks.
Jankowski was a first round pick of the Calgary Flames in the 2012 NHL Draft. In 253 games with the Flames and Pittsburgh Penguins, he netted 40 goals and 35 assists for 75 points. His career high was 17 goals in the 2017-18 season with Calgary.
The Sabres are 8-10-3 on the season and will face the Seattle Kraken tonight.
