Twisted Sisters evacuated Friday night when smoke haze fills building

Kell Firemen were called to the Twister Sisters bar on Route 37 at the Kell Road Friday night when a smoke haze filled the building and one of the walls appeared to be hot. There was a concern that a fire may be burning in the wall, but the problem turned out to be an overheated furnace. Once the determination was made, the owners of the building planned to call a furnace repairman to take care of the problem.  Salem Firemen stood by at the Kell Fire Station during the investigation of the smoke.

In another weekend call, Kell Firemen were called to the Huge residence at 5341 Kell Road Sunday night when a smoke or electric smell was noted in the bathroom. The problem was tracked to a ventilation fan that appeared to have overheated. An electrician was to be called by the homeowner to look into the
problem. The fire call came in at 10:40 Sunday night. Firemen were on the scene for about an hour.
