Barcelona officials confirm negotiations regarding Ferran Torres deal

According to reports, FC Barcelona have confirmed that officials of the Spanish Club have visited the Etihad, regarding the signing of Manchester City striker Ferran Torres, MEN understands.

After the recruitment of Legendary midfielder, Xavi Fernandez as their new boss, the Cules seem to have found their mojo back with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica, marking their second win on the trot.

The Blaugrana are keen on reinforcing their attacking third with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Dani Olmo, Dusan Vlahovic being linked with a potential Camp Nou switch.

Manchester City haven’t been able to fill the Aguero void thus far and are firing all cylinders to sign either Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspurs) or Erling Haaland (BVB Dortmund) in the upcoming transfer window.

What they wouldn’t have seen coming is the departure of a player who has the ability to become a master in the Centre forward position.

Rumors linking the Spaniard with a potential La Liga return were all over the news in the blink of an eye. City would have least expected the Spaniard to be keen on the prospect of leading the Barcelona attack.

Sterling seems to have regained form in the crunch time before the hectic winter schedule begins where the Cityzens enjoyed a stellar run in the most demanding time of the season, last year, leading to a sensational title win last season. The Sky Blues will certainly look to repeat the same.

With Sterling finding crucial minutes in the City setup, his transfer is looking unlikely at this point in time and the focus seems to have shifted on Ferran with Xavi being an admirer of his countryman’s gameplay.

Even Pep Guardiola seems to have been aware of Torres’s intentions and is unlikely to stand in his path of departing from the Etihad in order to lead the Barcelona attack.
