BTS and Megan Thee Stallion have finally shared the stage. On November 28, during the septet's second Permission to Dance stop in L.A., the Hot Girl Coach joined BTS to perform the remix of their mega-hit “Butter” together for the very first time.

Megan and BTS were supposed to perform “Butter” for the first time on November 22 at the 2021 American Music Awards, where BTS recently became the first Asian act to win the Artist of the Year award. The stage was first teased back on November 8, but on November 20, Megan announced that, unfortunately, she had to pull out because of an unexpected personal matter. “Hotties I was so excited to go to the AMAs and perform with BTS, but due to an unexpected personal matter, I can no longer attend,” the rapper wrote on Twitter alongside some crying emojis. “I’m so sad! I really can’t wait to hit the stage with my guys and perform ‘Butter’ real soon!” And thankfully we didn’t have to wait for long.

Barely a week after her tweet, Meg's wish came true, and to say expectations were high would be an understatement. Some fans first learned about Megan’s involvement in the Permission to Dance concert just hours before the show started, when the singer was spotted joining the Bangtan Boys at soundcheck. What seemed unimaginable then happened: expectations kept building up even more and finally culminated with an ecstatic performance by the eight artists.

As they did during the online Permission to Dance concert from October, BTS kicked off the “Butter” performance with a smooth dance break. After the song’s first chorus, Megan appeared on stage at Inglewood’s SoFi stadium clad in a pink bodice and knee-high heeled boots adorned with matching bows to deliver her fan-favorite verse. But the best accessory she was sporting was undoubtedly the huge smile on her face.

Thee Hot Girl later joined the septet on the B-stage during Suga’s verse. Bouncing energy off each other all throughout the song and even after, it was obvious to see BTS and Megan Thee Stallion were having the time of their lives — as were the thousands of fans witnessing the moment in the stadium. When RM asked Meg how she was feeling in front of the crowd, she answered: "I feel like a hot girl in every season!"
