The Phillies have been awful quiet since the start of the hot stove league, but things might be about to pick up.

With a impending lockout looming, Dave Dombrowski might be ready to have a free agent finally put pen to paper.

More Phillies: 6 Pitchers that could replace Hector Neris

According to Jon Morosi of the MLB Network, the Phillies have had contact with free agent outfielder Nick Castellanos, who hit .309 with 34 home runs, 100 RBI and 95 runs scored for the Reds in 2021.

Castellanos and Dombrowski know each other well, the Phillies current team president had the same role in Detroit when he selected the 29-year old in 2010.

The one possible snag? According to reports, Castellanos is seeking a contract of seven or eight years in length, causing teams to pause.

Adding Castellanos would be a huge addition to the Phillies outfielder and would fit the bill as a middle-of-the-order right-handed hitting run-producer to hit behind Bryce Harper.

Another name the Phillies may have their eye on per Jon Heyman of the MLB Network if is former Cubs, Nationals and Red Sox outfielder Kyle Schwarber.

Schwarber is a average outfielder, but the 28-year old has a ton of power, smashing with 32 home runs in just 113 games for Washington and Boston in 2021.

Either name would be a tremendous addition to the middle of the Phillies lineup.
