A man caught fire at a Novato gas station and ran into a downtown intersection, where police extinguished the flames, a fire official said Sunday.
The incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. Friday at De Long Avenue and Redwood Boulevard, said Novato fire Battalion Chief Jeff Whittet. He said medics took the man to MarinHealth Medical Center with “significant injuries.”
The Novato Police Department was still investigating the incident Sunday and released no details about the man’s condition or how he caught fire.
