Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Max Turner will face being expelled from school next week after causing serious trouble for teacher Daniel Osbourne.

Max (Paddy Bever)'s crush on his teenage mentor Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) threatens to have serious consequences next week, as he spots Daniel (Rob Mallard) and Summer spending time together after school while Daniel helps Summer with her Oxford University application.

After Max later films Daniel helping Summer when she experiences a dizzy spell, he jumps to conclusions and uses the Snow Ball to make a public accusation against Daniel, falsely claiming that he has been behaving inappropriately with his student.

As an investigation gets underway, Summer feels humiliated over the mistaken allegations. She rounds on Max for embarrassing her in front of the whole school and for causing so much trouble.

Max is soon brought in for a meeting with the school's deputy head, Mrs Cranshaw, but it doesn't go well for him as he claims he doesn't regret punching Daniel during the drama – in fact, he wishes that he'd hit him harder.

Mrs Cranshaw tells Max's adoptive dad, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), that she has no option but to recommend that Max is permanently expelled from the school.

Later on, back on the street, David fumes at Daniel, blaming him for Max's expulsion.

How will Daniel react to these fresh accusations – and could it lead to a new feud between David and Daniel?

Actress Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer, recently explained Summer's unrequited feelings for her teacher, saying that Summer feels she and Daniel have a lot in common.

"Summer realises that Daniel is a bit more mature, he is interested in all the same things that she is interested in especially literature-wise," she said.

"Summer isn't daft and she understands that nothing will happen now but it develops into this idea that maybe in the future, when she's older, they could end up together."

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, December 10 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
