EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College women's basketball team fell, 66-55, to Cornell on Sunday in
Kirby Sports Center dropping their fifth game of the season.
The Maroon and White were led by junior
Jessica Booth who totaled a team-high 14 points and a team-high seven assists. She also led the Leopards in block with three. Senior
Makaila Wilson pulled down a team-leading 10 rebounds, marking her fourth game this season with double digit rebounds.

Nicole Johnson totaled 11 points while Wilson and junior
Shanell Haskins rounded up the Leopards top-four scorers of the afternoon.
Cornell (4-3, 0-0 Ivy) opened up the game with a 7-0 run before Booth was able to break the Big Red's run to make it 7-2 with 7:00 left to play in the first. Though the Leopards kept the score close in the first quarter, Cornell hung on to be up by four at the end of the first 10 minutes.
Haskins started off the second quarter for the Maroon and White with a jumper to pull them within two. Two minutes later, with the score 18-15 in favor of Cornell, Johnson put in a bucket from beyond the arc to tie up the game at 18-18.
The two sides battled back and forth until with the score at 24-24, Cornell put in a layup to go up by two. Johnson responded with another three-pointer to pull the Leopards within one, 27-26.
Cornell added a jumper with 1:06 left in the half to send the game into halftime up by one, 28-27.
Booth made a big bucket to start off the third quarter putting the Leopards back out in front by one, 29-28. The two sides would continue to trade the lead until a layup by Wilson tied up the game at 37-37. Sophomore
Kayla Drummond, in her first appearance of the season for Lafayette, put in a layup to put the Leopards in front by two.
Booth then added a jumper to put the Leopards ahead by four before a three-pointer by Cornell pulled the Big Red back within one.
Both sides added one more bucket apiece to give Lafayette the 44-22 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of action.
Cornell outscored Lafayette 24-11 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 66-55 victory.
Cornell's Shannon Mulroy led all players with a game-high 23 points.
The Leopards remain at home for two more games. They are set to welcome Marist to
Kirby Sports Center on Wednesday and NJIT on Saturday. The Maroon and White will then hit the road for a four-game stretch to close out non-conference action and open up Patriot League play.
