IVE Concept Draws Mixed Reactions After Release of 'ELEVEN' MV Teaser for This Reason

Soon-to debut IVE initially garnered interest for their visuals and amazing lineup, but some seem to raise their eyebrows at the concept of the much-anticipated group, following the release of their debut single "ELEVEN" MV teaser.

On November 28, Starship Entertainment released a teaser video for IVE's first single album "ELEVEN" on its official YouTube channel and other social media platforms. Here's why the forthcoming group drew various reactions.

IVE Draws Mixed Reactions for 'Unexpected 'Debut Concept

In the 18-second teaser video, IVE members Ahn Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo showed off their luxurious and colorful visuals.

In particular, the members wearing white suits and showing choreography with intense beats and performing charismatic concepts drew attention.

Upon its release, fans praised IVE and left positive comments.

"Wonyoung, you're so pretty," "This song is already a bop," "It's a cultural reset," "I can't wait for its release," "1,2,3,4,5,6,7, you make me feel like eleven is super catchy," they said as they expressed their support to IVE.

Some people also commended the members' vocals and dance skills, which were incredibly good despite the short clip.

Meanwhile, others expressed disappointment to IVE's debut concept.

"I thought it would be a high-teen concept, but it's not," "I think I'll know it when I see the stage, but...," "It's like an ethnical song?", "I expected something refreshing though," "What's with the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 lyrics?" and "The teaser photos and MV teaser doesn't match."

IVE to Debut on December 1, Expectations Increase Following MV Teaser

IVE is scheduled to debut with their debut single "ELEVEN" on December 1. Even before their launch, IVE already has a growing fandom, thanks to the members' synergy, gorgeous visuals and their skills and talents.

On top of that, the popularity of former IZ*ONE Wonyoung and Yujin who will re-debut as IVE also contributed to the anticipation for the group. 

"ELEVEN" is expected to unveil IVE's identity with trendy music, complete performance and visuals. The single track of same name raises questions and expectations about the complete song.

As it is a new girl group from Starship after 5 years, the six-member group with visuals, idol characteristics and skills, attracted the interest of the whole industry, the public as well as global fans which is hotter than ever.
