Odell Beckham Jr. reaches the end zone for the first time as a Ram

When the Los Angeles Rams made the move to acquire Odell Beckham Jr., it touched off many an article wondering about how Sean McVay would incorporate the receiver into the Rams’ passing game with Matthew Stafford.

While his debut on short notice did not provide a ton of answers, McVay and company had a bye week to come up with some ways to get him involved in the passing game.

One of them? Just rely on his talent as a downfield threat.

Beckham notched his first touchdown as a Ram Sunday, getting past the Green Bay Packers’ defense on a vertical route for a touchdown. You’ll see him on the left side of the Rams’ offense on this play:

This is a great route from Beckham, who shows a quick slant route before exploding into a vertical stem. He gets past both the cornerback and the safety, as the Packers are playing with a two-high shell on this play, and drops under a rainbow from Stafford for the score.

Los Angeles still trails in the fourth quarter, but this explosive play is hopefully a sign of things to come for Rams fans.
