New Hampshire police are warning Granite Staters to be aware of an uptick of thefts and break-ins.Nashua police are searching for a suspect who broke into a home on Cox Street and stole items. Resident Patti Muccioli returned home from watching her daughter perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to find her home broken into."It took him 20 minutes to get into the house," Muccioli said. "He came here at 6:11 (a.m.) and was done by 6:53 (a.m.)"The suspect broke through a bulkhead in the back. Doorbell surveillance video showed him loading full suitcases into a car before driving away. "We have been home for two nights, and I have not slept," Muccioli said. "I sleep with a taser because I am scared. Pepper spray, taser, I am feeling very uneasy."Muccioli said police believe the suspect was someone that knows the family. "You cannot be too careful," Muccioli. "I think I told five people we were leaving, so it has to be small."Hudson police are investigating an unrelated truck theft. A Ford F-550 with a snowplow attached was stolen from Boyer's early Friday morning.Surveillance video from a nearby convenience store grabbed an image of what police said they believe is the suspects' vehicle: a Ford F-150 with a cap on the bed. Hudson police Lt. Patrick McStravick said the department hopes the public can help identify the two men involved in the thefts. He said the department usually sees an increase in crime this time of year. "And with people having packages and gifts in their vehicles, if their vehicles are unsecured overnight, one of the big things we see is vehicle break-ins," McStravick said. Police said you do need to be careful this time of year, but there are ways to protect yourself through the holiday season, especially if you plan to be out of town for a while."Do not let people know that your house is what we call a soft target, that you are not home," McStravick said. "Advise your local police department if you are going to be away."Anyone with information on either of these incidents is advised to call Nashua and Hudson police, respectively.
