What were the key factors that decided a crucial Week 12 game between the Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium?

This was it. The do-or-die moment for the Carolina Panthers.

Sunday’s game at the Miami Dolphins had a postseason feel to it given what was at stake. The Panthers‘ hopes of reaching the playoffs were hanging in the balance and everyone associated with the franchise was eager to put things right before the bye after their disappointing loss to the Washington Football Team last time around.

It was a time when big players needed to stand up and be counted. For coaches to make the right decisions. For talented young prospects to come of age.

As things turned out, it was another complete disaster. One that ends any hopes Carolina has of realistically making the postseason.

Without further ado, here are five key factors being the Panthers’ dismal loss in Week 12 at the Dolphins.

Lack of discipline from the Carolina Panthers

The NFL’s league leaders in penalties didn’t help their cause with another ill-disciplined display that was riddled with individual errors. Something that’s clearly being tolerated by the coaching staff despite them pleading to the contrary throughout the week.

It’s about poor execution. Not being ready.

And it’s costing the Panthers in a big way.

Carolina finished the game with seven penalties for 61 yards. Simply not good enough for a team that still had hopes of entering the playoff race before this game.
