Premier League leaders Chelsea welcomed Manchester United to wrap up Matchweek 13 at Stamford Bridge. The hosts could not capitalize on a whole host of chances and ended up sharing the points as the game ended 1-1. The whole first half was dominated by the Blues, taking 10 shots on goal compared to Manchester United’s 1 but the likes of Callum Hudson Odoi and Hakim Ziyech were very wasteful in the final third.

The second half started in the worst way possible as Jorginho gifted Manchester United their first goal as Jadon Sancho took advantage of the Italian midfielder’s abysmal first touch and slotted past Edouard Mendy to make it 1-0 in the 50th minute. Chelsea players kept pushing forward and in the 69th minute won a penalty as Thiago Silva was kicked by Aaron Wan Bissaka. Jorginho converted the penalty to make it 1-1 and had multiple chances to win the game late on but failed to do so, resulting in two points dropped today.

Here’s how each Chelsea player fared in a disappointing performance against Manchester United:

Edouard Mendy (Goalkeeper): 5.5/10

Edouard Mendy had a very mixed and match performance against Manchester United. The Senegalese international had nothing to do in the first half as he faced no shots on goal but conceded only after five minutes after the start of the second half. Even though Mendy was not at all responsible for the goal, he still made some embarrassing mistakes that could have cost Chelsea the game.

Trevoh Chalobah (Centerback): 7/10

Trevoh Chalobah again picked for a big game didn’t do much wrong throughout the 97 minutes. With Manchester United offering very little in terms of attacking, Chalobah had a very comfortable first-half up against Marcus Rashford. In the second half, Chalobah looked decent even after the introduction of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Thiago Silva (Centerback): 7/10

The Brazilian veteran too looked comfortable throughout the game, especially in the first half. In the second half, as the team went behind Thiago Silva had much more defending to do as the whole team pushed forward in search of an equalizer. Silva was the one to win the penalty after he was brought down by Aaron Wan Bissaka.

Antonio Rudiger (Centerback): 7/10

With less defending to do throughout the game, Antonio Rudiger kept making his trademark runs forward keeping the Manchester United defenders on their toes, and even clattered a shot off the crossbar in the first half. In the dying minutes of the second half, the German could have and should have won the game for the Blues but skied his effort from close range.
