DADE CITY — One man died after two motorcycles collided Sunday morning in Pasco County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A motorcyclist, a 34-year-old man from St. Petersburg, was riding north on Jessamine Road, approaching Amberlea Road, at 10 a.m. Sunday. Another motorcyclist, a 48-year-old man from Wesley Chapel, was traveling behind him, troopers said.

The Wesley Chapel man then overtook and passed traffic to his left, entering the southbound lane. When he attempted to return to the northbound lane, the Wesley Chapel man crashed into the side of the St. Petersburg man.

On impact, both motorcycles overturned. The Wesley Chapel man came to a stop on the grass shoulder and the St. Petersburg man came to a stop on the road, troopers said.
