Conor McGregor has provided an update on his recovery from the leg break he suffered against Dustin Poirier.
As McGregor looked to avenge the defeat he suffered in his second bout with Poirier, the Irishman’s leg folded in on itself and he was subsequently dealt another loss via doctor stoppage.
McGregor has been absent from the octagon ever since and you imagine that it will still be a fair few months before we’re seeing him fight in the UFC again.
That said, he has made definitive progress and his leg seems to be recovering as all concerned would have hoped, as he told his Twitter followers (quoted by The Sun).
“The fibula is fully healed. The medial side of the tibia is developing nice callous also.”
“It is just patience now for it to form down through the bone to the lateral side of the tibia where the larger break occurred.”
“It’s getting there. Patience will win this race for me!”
As soon as McGregor and his doctors are happy that his leg will be able to sustain kicks during sparring and on fight night, we’ll be seeing him fighting once again.
Like him or not, there’s no denying that he’s the biggest PPV draw in the sport. Every man and his dog will be tuned in when he does eventually return to action.
