The Detroit Pistons take on the LA Lakers tonight on the road and will try to avenge their recent loss.

All eyes will be on Isaiah Stewart and LeBron James after the incident in the last game, but Beef Stew seems ready to let personal vendettas go to try and get a win.

He wasn’t buying LeBron’s excuses but I don’t expect there to be a repeat of last game. But I do expect a hard-fought game and hopefully this renewed rivalry will inject some life into the Detroit Pistons, who have been playing terribly lately and are coming off a blowout loss to the Clippers.

The Lakers are coming off an overtime loss to the Kings and have lost 5-of-7 overall to drop below .500, so they will certainly want to get a win tonight.

LeBron James is listed as questionable (fear) after playing huge minutes in the last few games and Anthony Davis is also listed as day-to-day though he is probable for tonight’s game.

I could see the Lakers resting the two against the Detroit Pistons, whose shooting is so bad right now that it might not matter if the gym is empty.

Here are the odds, some predictions and your best fantasy bets for tonight’s game vs. the hated Lakers.

Detroit Pistons vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Odds, spread and over/under

According to WynnBET, the Pistons are 10 point underdogs on the road tonight vs. Los Angeles.

LA won the last meeting by five points after Detroit collapsed in the 4th without a center to guard Anthony Davis. The Pistons had played their best game of the season up until that point, but can they replicate that effort tonight and keep this one close?

If LeBron doesn’t play the task becomes easier, but if the Lakers play with the effort and intensity that they had in that last 4th quarter vs. the Pistons, then this one could get ugly, as the Lakers are struggling and need a win.

But I also think the Pistons will come out with energy after being blown out by the Clippers, and you can get +100 odds taking the points, so it might be worth it, especially if LeBron doesn’t play.

The money lines are set at +385 for Detroit and -485 for LA. It’s hard to see the Pistons winning this the way they’ve been shooting, so if you want to bet the D, take the points.

The over/under is 216 and for once I might take the over, as both of these teams stink on defense. The Lakers have the league’s 18th-best defense rating and the Pistons come in at 21st overall.

Pistons vs. Lakers: Predictions and best bets

Jerami Grant had his best game of the season in the last meeting with the Lakers, but he did it by making a flurry of 3-point shots and I don’t see that happening again, as he has been broke since.

Cade Cunningham had a triple double in the last meeting though he shot the ball poorly. He has been struggling mightily with his shot lately but is due for a breakout game. I hope it is tonight, but even if it isn’t, he’s been getting enough rebounds and assists to still be a strong play.

If you are looking for a low-cost play, both Frank Jackson and Hamidou Diallo had big games against the Lakers and I love Diallo to do it again, as the Lakers had no answer for him on the boards.

Isaiah Stewart is going to have his hands full with AD, so I’d stay away from him in daily fantasy and the Pistons’ bench will have to find a way to slow Carmelo Anthony, who along with AD, will be the best fantasy plays for the Lakers (if LeBron is out).

Can the Pistons play a complete game and get a win tonight? I hope so, as I am getting sick of losing and breaking the streak against the Lakers would be ideal.

How to watch

There is a late tip-off tonight so the game won’t start until 9:30 AM ET, not great for a Sunday night. You can watch it on Bally Sports Detroit or listen on 97.1 FM The Ticket.

The Pistons and Mavs could be future trade partners. dark. Next
