Trump Jr. Says Americans Acting 'Like Sheep' by Not Rioting Against Vaccine Mandates

Donald Trump Jr. said on Saturday that Americans are acting "like sheep" because they are not protesting against COVID vaccine mandateswhile also criticizing President Joe Biden, COVID-related policies, and the local media's coverage of anti-vaccine protests in Europe.

"They [the media and the left] are gonna make sure that you never hear about it because they don't want you getting these kinds of ideas that freedom may actually still exist in some parts of the world," Trump Jr. said during an interview with host Dan Bongino on FOX News. "I mean, Europe is pushing back and America is sitting there like sheep."

Trump Jr. also claimed that conservatives and right-leaning individuals today have to battle "big tech, mainstream media, social media, trillion-dollar industries that are functioning as the marketing department for the radical left."

Throughout his interview, Trump Jr. blasted Biden over the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, COVID, and the way he is handling the economy. At one point, he attacked the president for not curing cancer.

"He was also going to cure cancer, if I remember correctly. Everyone said, 'Oh, that's great, we should definitely elect him.' I haven't seen much movement on that," he said.

In 2019, Biden vowed to find a cure to cancer during his presidential campaign rally in Ottumwa, Iowa. He had previously spoken about his goals to address issues related to the disease after he lost his eldest son Beau to brain cancer in 2015.

"A lot of you understand what loss is and when loss occurs, you know that people come up to you and tell you 'I understand' if you lose a husband, a wife, a son, a daughter, a family member," Biden said during the rally in 2019. "That's why I've worked so hard in my career to make sure that—I promise you if I'm elected president, you're going to see the single most important thing that changes America, we're going to cure cancer."

Trump Jr. has previously attacked Biden over the latter's cancer cure promise during his father's re-election campaign.

"Wow, why the hell didn't you do that over the last 50 years, Joe?" Trump Jr. said, addressing Biden in 2019.

During his Saturday interview, the former president's son criticized Biden's performance over the past 10 months since he came into office.

"All you see is idiocy, Joe Biden is overseeing the destruction of our country. He has overperformed in only one thing, which is I thought it would take him much longer to destroy America. He's managed to do it in 10 months, which is pretty impressive," he said.

Newsweek reached out to the White House for comments but didn't receive a response by the time of publication.
