The Dallas Stars were able to conquer the backend of a back to back game situation and win 3-2 against the Arizona Coyotes. This was the fourth win in a row for Dallas which is one of their longest winning streaks this season. Heres how the Stars did without Jake Oettinger between the pipes tonight.

Dallas Stars vs Arizona Coyotes recap: 1st period

The Stars would once again get out to a quick start out of the gate with a goal from “The Ace of Spades” Roope Hintz. The first goal for Arizona is kind of bittersweet for me since I was a huge fan of his when he was with Dallas. Antoine Roussel would get the Coyotes on the board a couple minutes later.

Jacob Peterson would finish the first period by getting his third for a 2-1 lead going into intermission. The Stars would lead in the shots on goal category with 14 and would lead in face off percentage at 60%.

Dallas Stars vs Arizona Coyotes recap: 2nd period

Holtby would continue to be the all star he once was to start the second period. However Travis Boyd would tie the game at two at the 16 minute mark. Jason Robertson would score for the Stars two minutes later to retake the lead. The Stars would go into the second intermission leading 3-2. The Stars would continue to lead in the shots on goal and face off category.

Dallas Stars vs Arizona Coyotes recap: 3rd period

This would be a goaltending clinic period for Braden Holtby as he shut down the Arizona Coyotes shot attempts one by one. If a young goaltender wants to learn how to become a pro, I would watch how Holtby handled the Coyotes. No goals were scored in this period, as Holtby in the Stars coast to a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes. Stars return home to take on the Carolina Hurricanes this Tuesday at 7:30 Central Time.
