The all-time series between the New York Jets (2-8) and Houston Texans (2-8) has been one defined by a pair of streaks. New York won the first five matchups when Houston was a fledgling franchise, but the Texans have since won the last three head-to-head meetings. Entering their Week 12 contest, these teams have the two worst point differentials in the NFL with Houston 31st (-121) and New York 32nd (-142). In select markets, you can stream the game on Paramount+.

NRG Stadium in Houston will host Texans vs. Jets with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET. Caesars Sportsbook lists Houston as the three-point favorites in the latest Jets vs. Texans odds. Week 12 NFL picks for Jets vs. Texans

Before you tune in to Sunday's Texans vs. Jets game, you need to see the NFL picks from SportsLine's advanced computer model. The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,300 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. The model enters Week 12 of the 2021 season on an incredible 130-91 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

For Jets vs. Texans, the model is backing Houston to cover as three-point favorites. The Texans have been much better at covering than their actual record indicates as they are 5-5 against the spread. And they are even better at home with a 3-1 ATS record while New York is 0-5 against the spread on the road.

The Jets' offense was actually serviceable once Zach Wilson exited the lineup as the team averaged 24.5 points with Mike White and Joe Flacco under center. However, during Wilson's six starts, New York put up just 13.3 points per game as New York is now turning back to the rookie. With the Jets investing a high pick on Wilson, they want to see what he has learned during his time on the sideline. While that is a sensible approach from the franchise, that doesn't necessarily give the Jets a better chance at winning.

What also doesn't give New York a great chance to win or cover is the fact that it's allowing opponents to score on over 50 percent of their possessions. That is, by far, the highest percentage in the league and the model recognizes that as it projects Houston to score nearly 10 points above its season average. The Jets offense won't be able to keep up so SportsLine's model has the Texans (-3) covering in well over 50 percent of simulations.
