Wizards show improvement during loss to Garaway

The Wizards struggled at the offensive end of the court as they dropped a 49-16 decision to host Fairless.

The Lady Falcons led 21-5 at the end of the opening quarter of play, 35-11 at halftime, and 47-13 entering the final frame.

“We looked like a team without a lot of varsity playing experience,” stated Head Coach Jason Wade. “We will get back in the gym and work hard to continue to grow and improve as the season goes on.”

Tori Reichard and Kammi Lebo both had four points, Samantha Monter had three points; four rebounds and three steals; Audrey Wade had two points, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks; and Annie Carter had a bucket and three boards.

The Lady Pirates led 9-5 at the end of the first stanza, 24-15 at halftime, and 41-23 heading into the fourth quarter.

Wade led the offense with 10 points, Reichard had nine points, and Brooke Chastain and Monter both had three points.

“We made several steps in the right direction,” stated Coach Wade. “We still need to focus on finishing our shots and cleaning up the defensive rebounds, but the team fought hard and never gave up.”
