A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a car on White Horse Road in Berea, S.C., Greenville County Master Trooper J.G. Miller said.
At around 6:26 p.m. Saturday night, South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated a fatal collision on White Horse Road near East Bourne Road.
The coroner identified the motorcyclist as 28-year-old Gregory Davis, Jr.
He was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival, a release from the coroner's office said.
Officials said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Troopers said Davis, Jr. -- who was driving a 2021 Honda motorcycle -- was ejected from the vehicle after striking a 2006 Nissan Titan.
The driver of the Titan was charged with failure to yield right of way as the car was trying to turn left onto a private driveway off of White Horse Road, SC Highway Patrol said.
An external examination will be performed on Monday, according to the coroner.
This case remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroners Office.
