Favreau previews the plot of the upcoming Star Wars series...

Jon Favreau The Book of Boba Fett Star Wars

The Book of Boba Fett showrunner Jon Favreau says there will be a power vacuum in the upcoming Star Wars series.

A Boba Fett project has been a long time coming, and in a month, we will finally get to see the beloved Star Wars character get his chance to shine. However, the upcoming Disney Plus is going in a different direction than some might not have expected years ago, with Boba Fett attempting to rule the underworld after the events of Return of the Jedi.

While speaking with Empire, Jon Favreau talked about what the state of the Star Wars underworld will look like in The Book of Boba Fett following the death of Jabba the Hutt:

“There is a power vacuum. because Jabba is gone. Jabba was clearly a very strong and imposing leader, who people were very scared of, and who seemed to rule with an iron fist. You pull somebody like that out of the ecosystem of Tatooine – and Hutt Space in general – and you have the opportunity that’s ripe in the gangster genre. Although Boba Fett is a very experienced bounty hunter, he’s not experienced at running a criminal syndicate or managing forces. He’s not normally a newcomer. He’s an expert as we see him in most areas. But in this case, he’s trying to transition to another position.”

Here is the synopsis for the upcoming Star Wars series:

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, and Kathleen Kennedy are all executive producers on The Mandalorian spin-off with episodes directed by Rodriguez, Favreau, Filoni, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The series stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, and Jennifer Beals.

The Book of Boba Fett will arrive on December 29 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the Star Wars franchise on Disney Plus and the big screen. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
