Ohio State alum Kirk Herbstreit had major praise for Michigan after the Wolverines beat the Buckeyes while playing “like they wanted more.”

It was bad enough for Ohio State fans watching Michigan beat them down physically in The Game.

Having to witness noted Ohio State alumni Kirk Herbstreit shower the rivals with praise on Twitter had to take the day to a whole new low.

Herbstreit is first and foremost a broadcaster. So he has to do his fair share of unbiased coverage. Still, this one is about as close to salt in the wound as possible.

Even Kirk Herbstreit had to admit Michigan dominated Ohio State

The hard part is acknowledging that Michigan completely outplayed the Buckeyes. As Herbstreit said, the Wolverines looked like they wanted it more. No one ever wants to hear that about their rivals, but that’s the only way to describe what happened at The Big House on Saturday.

Ohio State has had the recent edge in the rivalry. Michigan was always bound to break through eventually. It’s up to Ryan Day and his staff to make sure the players are better prepared to go toe-to-toe with the Wolverines when they meet again next year.

Until then, the Buckeyes will have to lick their wounds and accept the loss.
