New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley has had another season cut short by injury. Barkley worked hard to rehab from last year's season-ending knee injury, only to sprain his ankle against the Dallas Cowboys back in October. Speaking to Giants' reporters about his injury, Barkley offered a disturbing admission.

That's the absolute last thing the Giants and their fans want to hear. It's also the last possible thing Saquon Barkley wants to say. Barkley sustained a couple of injuries while at Penn State but anything he endured as a Nittany Lion falls short of his injury history in the NFL.

Barkley, who has missed half of the Giants' last 42 games played, returned last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing a total of 36 snaps. If fully healthy, the star halfback could help propel New York back up the NFC East standings just by being in the lineup- he's that talented.

However, the ankle injury will unfortunately continue to ‘nag' him throughout the rest of the NFL season. Hopefully, for Barkley's sake, it continues to get better and he can get close to full health before season's end.

As Saquon Barkley put it, all he can do is keep trusting his ankle and trusting the work he's been putting in for the Giants.
