Rece Davis is the host of ESPN "College GameDay," which broadcast from Ann Arbor, Michigan on Saturday.

During Saturday's show, Davis paused to pay tribute to Tuscaloosa News columnist Cecil Hurt, who died Tuesday at the age of 62 years old.

Davis brought up Hurt during a discussion of Saturday's football game between Alabama and Auburn.

"This Alabama, Auburn game is going to be really unusual, because on Sunday morning, there's not going to be a Cecil Hurt column — the legendary columnist from the Tuscaloosa News passed away this week — to write about what happened and put it into perspective," Davis said. "Certainly, our thoughts and prayers going out to Cecil and his friends and family. There were many that included (Alabama football coach) Nick and Terry Saban as well."
