The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have quite the collection of skill-position players alongside Tom Brady. However, Tampa Bay could have had even more firepower if they had their way in the 2020 NFL draft. If the Buccaneers had their way, Tom Brady would have been handing the ball off to Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.

Wow. Seeing how well Jonathan Taylor has translated to the NFL makes this even more of a crazy what-if scenario. So, the Buccaneers, who have the NFL leader in touchdown passes in Tom Brady, could have also had the NFL's leader in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in Jonathan Taylor? That is scary to think about.

It sounds as if Bruce Arians and the Buccaneers would have pulled the trigger on Taylor had he lasted several more picks. After all, the Buccaneers were already reportedly interested in another halfback in Antonio Gibson– and Taylor was selected just four picks ahead of their second-round slot. What a combination Brady and Taylor would have been.

Arians spoke about how he loved Taylor coming into the draft, noting the Wisconsin product's speed, hands and do-it-all ability. Taylor, who has thrived behind the Colts' elite offensive line, likely would have found similar success behind Tampa Bay's above-average line as well. He certainly would have enjoyed catching passes from Brady as well.

Things worked out pretty darn well for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers after the 2020 offseason. However, it's fun to imagine the monstrous offense they could have had if given the chance to draft Jonathan Taylor. Instead, the Buccaneers will be tasked with trying to slow down the Colts star this Sunday.
