Man City star Ferran Torres has impressed heavily since making the move to the Etihad 18 months ago, proving to be a key piece of the attack. Although he's currently sidelined until 2022 due to injury, it appears the Spaniard is interested in a January move to Barcelona, who are very keen on his services.

Torres is coming off a fine summer on international duty with Spain and evidently turned some heads in the Catalan camp after showing well at Euro 2020. The youngster signed a five-year deal with the Citizens though and wouldn't come cheap. Pep Guardiola's side did buy him for just €23 million from Valencia, but the Premier League giants would undoubtedly demand a lot more if he was to depart.

However, Barcelona is still struggling financially following Lionel Messi's abrupt exit in the summer. The question is, could the club actually afford Torres? New manager Xavi is also eyeing Raheem Sterling, whose future at Man City is looking uncertain. According to Manchester Evening News' report, Barcelona club officials were even in Manchester recently to discuss the possibility of signing Torres.

To be honest, he is in a great situation right now. Despite being hurt, Torres was one of Guardiola's favorite players and a consistent threat out wide. After all, he still has years left on his Man City contract and this club is clearly at a much different level than Barca. It would simply be foolish to make a move like this, especially after just recovering from injury.

But, with Barcelona, you simply never know what they can pull off.
