YTAutoFullScreen automatically kicks any video you play in the YouTube app into full-screen mode

When you begin watching a video in the YouTube app, it first starts playing in the constrained upper-1/3 of ths display in portrait mode. You can then move to a fuller-screen experience in landscape mode by rotating your device.

In a recent update to the YouTube app, the popular video platform added yet another step — closing out of the comments box on the right side of the screen — to enjoy a full-screen landscape viewing experience.

A desire to make full-screen YouTube video consumption easier and less cumbersome for the end user drove iOS developer PoomSmart to release a new and free jailbreak tweak called YTAutoFullScreen, which as the name suggests, automatically initiates the full-screen landscape viewing mode for any video you start watching.

Once installed, the process to use YTAutoFullScreen is straightforward: simply tap on the play button of any video in the YouTube app; that’s it.

When the video starts playing, you’re moved to the full-screen landscape viewing mode. The best part is, you don’t even have to close out of the comments box to get that full-screen viewing experience.

If you’re a chronic YouTube app user, then this is a jailbreak tweak that you won’t want to miss. It’s available for free in PoomSmart’s personal repository via any package manager of your choosing and supports all jailbroken iPhones with the latest version of the native YouTube app installed.

Those who aren’t already taking full advantage of PoomSmart’s personal repository can add it to their package manager of choice by utilizing the URL provided below:
