Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson has teased how his character Darren Osbourne is going to escape from the kidnappers who have been holding him captive.

Darren has been trapped in a hotel room for weeks now, ever since he was abducted at the beginning of November.

His best friend Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) has been doing everything in his power to find Darren after receiving a bag of his belongings, which was when he realised Darren's lucky shirt was still there and got suspicious.

In scenes to air next week, Luke will track Darren's phone to the hotel and will have a look around to find his friend or any suspicious activity.

Meanwhile, a still captive Darren has an opportunity to get in touch with Nancy (Jessica Fox) as he gets his hands on a phone, but, to his horror, it dies before she can answer.

There seems to be little hope left, but according to Ashley, Darren is working on a plan to make it out alive.

"He's thinking of just making a dart for it," he told Inside Soap. "But then he gets found out – and when someone's holding a gun to your back, you do what you're told!"

Darren still has no idea that Luke is looking for him, "although he’d like to think that someone cared about him enough to come looking!" continued the actor.

"He knows that Ethan has left a note for Nancy, telling her that Darren doesn't want the baby and he's left – so he'd be over the moon if he knew that Luke was looking for him.

"However, Luke has his own problems going on, so he's not sure if the things he's thinking or seeing are real – which is a tragedy in itself."

In the meantime, while Hollyoaks already gave us a brief glimpse at Darren's kidnapper, the soap will introduce us to Ethan (played by Matthew James-Bailey) in Friday's (November 26) first look episode on E4.

Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
