According to Chris Johnston of TSN, the Chicago Blackhawks have placed 25-year-old centerman
Adam Gaudette on waivers.
The Braintree, Massachusetts native has only appeared in eight games for the Blackhawks this season. In those eight games, Gaudette has two points (one goal, one assist), four penalty minutes, and is a minus-three. His last appearance came on November 9th against the Pittsburgh Penguins where he only played 5:18.
Gaudette was acquired from the Vancouver Canucks in April for
Matthew Highmore. In July, the Blackhawks signed him to a one-year contract worth $997,500, and he'll become a restricted free agent at season's end.
Given his age and low cap hit, there will more than likely be a few teams that will explore the possibility of placing a waiver claim on Gaudette.
