Mancos falls behind early in championship

Haxtun takes 34-0 lead into break

The Mancos High School football team trails Haxtun 34-0 at halftime of the eight-man football state championship.

Haxtun scored on its first five possessions in the game, converting four fourth downs to keep their drives alive and eventually reach the end zone.

Mancos, meanwhile, was held scoreless in the first half for the first time all season. The Bluejays picked up three first downs in the half and were intercepted three times.
