New Amsterdam spoilers follow.
New Amsterdam star Jocko Sims says Lyn Malvo's pregnancy bombshell in season four's midseason finale is going to force his character, Dr Floyd Reynolds, to think deeply about his future.
The medical drama's latest episode, titled 'Death is the Rule. Life is the Exception', also saw loved-up Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) and Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) leave for a new life in London.
But with their time on the show (seemingly) coming to an end, viewers have started to wonder what the instalment's other big twist has in store.

"Floyd is interested, and Baptiste is interested, in who's the father of [Lyn's] child," Sims explained to TV Line, noting that the paternity of the baby is unclear at this stage.
"We get really caught up in that, and so much so that we kind of forget about Lyn and what she's going through. It's a learning moment for Floyd and Baptiste that we see coming up. So you'll get to see more of Baptiste, even though he's currently been fired.
"I would definitely say this is not what he wanted, but I think that this will cause Reynolds to think," he added, before teasing what to expect of the cardiovascular surgeon when the show returns sometime in 2022.

"I read an episode this morning that had a very poignant moment with just Reynolds by himself, and I can't wait to shoot it. He's thinking about fatherhood in this moment and the potential ups and downs that may come with that," said Sims.
"Whether or not this child is his or not, it changes him a little bit for the moment."
New Amsterdam airs on NBC in America, while Amazon Prime Video and NOW carry the show in the UK. It's also available on All4.
