Two injured in overnight South Side shooting

PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) A little before 2:00 a.m. Friday morning, Pittsburgh Police responded to a shotspotter alert for multiple rounds in the South Side.

Authorities responded to the call of multiple gunshots in the area of S. 17th and East Carson Street.

When police arrived to the scene they found shell casings.

While on the scene, police were notified of a male and a female arriving at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.

The female suffered a single gunshot wound to the back and was listed in stable condition.

The male took multiple wounds to the chest and is in critical condition.

Mobile Crimes and Violent Crime units are investigating the scene.

While responding to the call, multiple police vehicles were involved in a collision.

No injuries were reported from the collision.
