Enquirer names Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky athletes of the week, Nov. 26

In a vote that ended Nov. 26, Cincinnati.com readers selected the Cincinnati Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Mercy Health, from high school sports action through Nov. 21.

Winners through Oct. 1 should have received a certificate through the school's athletic department. The next round will come out in a few weeks.

Once they reach the schools, please remember to send a picture of winning athletes with their certificates for the photo gallery to mlaughman@enquirer.com.

Here are this week's top choices:

Ohio football team: Badin – Badin rallied with a trio of fourth-quarter touchdowns to stun Bellbrook, 21-9, and reach the state Final Four for the first time since 1998.

Ohio football player: Carson Cheek, Badin – He had a pick-six to punctuate Badin’s miraculous comeback in Friday’s 21-9 win over Bellbrook in the Division III regional championship game.

Northern Kentucky/Indiana football player: Kwintin Gilliam, Newport Central Catholic – He led the Thoroughbreds with nearly 100 tackles for the season as their season ended in the 1A state quarterfinals.

Ohio big-school girls basketball: Alli Robertson, Harrison – In the freshman’s first varsity game, Robertson scored 24 points and grabbed eight boards.

Ohio small-school girls basketball: Brock Bittermann, Taylor – A junior center, Bittermann had 13 points and 17 rebounds to help beat New Richmond 58-45.

Boys archer: Alex Kanarek, Cooper He shot 282 at the Scott High School Fall Shootout archery tournament to finish in second place in the boys high school division. He led his team to a first-place finish at the tournament.

Girls archer: Hallie Kriege, Dixie Heights She shot 286 at the Scott High School Fall Shootout archery tournament to finish in first place in the girls high school division. Hallie led her team to a second-place finish at the tournament.
