A Columbus tech company is making it even easier for small business owners to thrive during the pandemic. Online ordering has become very popular for restaurants and a local tech company really wants to help small businesses capitalize on that, and it's really helping them keep their doors open.

"We were constantly thinking about how to get more revenue, how to get more customers coming into these small mom-and-pop type of restaurants,” said Purba Majumder, CEO of Cybervation.

Purba started Cybervation, a tech company to help “mom and pop” businesses grow. One of her services is called "Bistro UX,” an online ordering system for businesses to use. She says 150 local restaurants already use it, like the Mexican restaurant, "Mi Tradicion" in Dublin. The restaurant owner, Jose Guerrero telling us he loves it.

"It's very easy to use,” he said.

The big reason? He gets to make money. He said other third-party companies that offer online ordering services charge big fees.

"The other ones charge you a lot like 20%,” Guerrero stated.

"We are zero commission, and we can increase the profit margin for all the restaurant owners, and they have access to data, they can get reports,” said Majumder.

Most of their clients are Latino business owners and to help increase their profits even more, Purba came up with another concept: a universal "local" gift card, called “Cambio Card.”

"You can buy this card and use it at 15 different merchant locations, and you can try 15 different types of food, that would be more appetizing for most people,” she said.

As more business owners move towards the tech world, Pruba's expanding her tech business too. Now she’s offering her services to neighboring states to help other business owners, make it easy for customers to order online, all while keeping profits up.
