The Streets at Southpoint mall in Durham, NC have closed early on Black Friday after three people were shot, including a 10-year-old, police confirmed during a press briefing, according to ABC affiliate WTVD.
They also confirmed that one person is in custody and a weapon was recovered.
It was originally reported that only one person was shot and then later confirmed that three people were shot, police confirmed to WTVD.
Police said during a press briefing that three other people were injured during the evacuation.
The mall is on lockdown and closed for the rest of the day. An active investigation is underway.
Police said in the late afternoon that there was no further threat to the public.
The Durham Police Dept. said the mall was evacuated and is closed while police investigate the incident.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and there is no threat to the public.
