The San Jose Sharks have announced that general manager Doug Wilson is taking a temporary medical leave from his day-to-day duties with the club. In the interim, assistant general manager Joe Will is set to handle daily operations.

Wilson, 64, was recently inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions to the game as both a player and executive. Kevin Kurz of The Athletic that Wilson has been dealing with a persistent cough since September, but this absence is not believed to be COVID-related.

Across the hockey landscape, fans, media and players are extending their support for the Sharks GM. The staff at PHR is no different, and hope to see him back to work soon.
