Breaking this afternoon:

The Tigers and Mets shortstop Javier Baez may be closing in on a deal that would reportedly be significantly less and shorter than the 10 years/$300 million that Carlos Correa reportedly wants. We're looking at something closer to a 6-year deal with player and team options after 3 years, is what I heard on the radio today. Mets are still in the hunt, however.
