HAMMONTON—Police received a call in reference to a suspicious person on the 500 block of Grape Street at 4:38 a.m. on November 12, Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said.

Upon arrival, Officer Pedro Benitez observed a resident detaining a naked male, Friel said.

The accused had been on the caller’s front porch with lewd behavior, Friel said.

Friel said the subject was identified as Jean Pina-Nieves, 22, of Hammonton.

Pina-Nieves was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters for processing and charged with the following: lewdness, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, Friel said.

He was released pending an appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court, Friel said.

Benitez was the arresting and charging officer, Friel said.

In other police news, police responded to a call of trespassing at 10:53 a.m. on November 14 on the 300 block of W. Orchard St., Friel said.

The caller said there were people entering a residence going through foreclosure, Friel said.

Sgt. Sean Grasso responded and located Jose Chimale-Estrada, 38, of Hammonton, Friel said. He was found sleeping in the residence, Friel added.

Chimale-Estrada was taken into custody, transported and charged with trespassing, Friel said.

Friel said he was released pending an appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court.

“We saw the bank out there [November 15] securing the building,” Friel said.
