Brooks Koepka revives Bryson DeChambeau feud with golf cart for ‘The Match’

Brooks Koepka even found a way to work a jab at Bryson DeChambeau into his cart for The Match.

Ahead of the fifth edition of “The Match” on Friday, Koepka tweeted photos of the cart he’ll use, including four phrases tucked beneath his seat: “2 short of a 6 pack,” “Let’s go Brooksy,” “There’s an ant” and “Sorry bro.”

All four refer to past interactions between the feuding golfers.

The first phrase stems from a Twitch comment DeChambeau made when asked about his physical appearance compared to Koepka’s, according to Golfweek.

“I don’t think his genetics even make him look good,” DeChambeau said at the time. “Did you see the Body Issue? He didn’t have any abs. I have abs.”

Koepka then clapped back on Twitter with a picture of four trophies, and a caption that said, “You were right @b_dechambeau I am 2 short of a 6 pack!”

Koepka’s second phrase on his cart dates back to June, when fans at the Memorial Tournament chanted “Brooksie” at DeChambeau, and he called security to intervene before later saying that he was flattered by the taunts.

“There’s an ant” was the phrase Koepka told his caddie during the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, captured on the broadcast, one day after DeChambeau pleaded with a rules official about getting relief for fire ants and an animal hole in the vicinity of his ball.

And the final phrase, “Sorry bro,” originated when Koepka tweeted that phrase at Aaron Rodgers when he was paired with DeChambeau during the fourth edition of the match.

Scoring for “The Match” between Koepka and DeChambeau will follow the standard match play format used in the Ryder Cup, according to Sporting News, with one point awarded to the person who shoots the lowest on each hole and a half-point to both players if the hole is tied. Koepka and DeChambeau will only play 12 instead of the traditional 18, though.

The Match is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday.
