Austin Forsyth Drinking Alcohol?! New Photo Sparks Speculation
Former Counting On star Austin Forsyth might have enjoyed an alcoholic beverage during a family gathering this holiday season. A new photo of himself and his wife, Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth, is sparking speculation that he isn’t quite as strict as fans once thought. Read on to get all of the details.
As fans know, the Duggars don’t drink alcohol. Jill Dillard, who’s known as the family rebel, has had an adult beverage on multiple occasions, but as far as we know, no other family members drink. So, it comes as a surprise to see that Austin might be enjoying an alcoholic drink. This isn’t something the Duggars typically do, however.
Jill previously opened up about her decision to drink alcohol. She told PEOPLE, “We have boundaries. In our faith, we believe like we’re not supposed to get drunk. So, with drinking, it’s not like we’re just like going crazy. It’s more socially here and there, or at home, for a date or something. Our kids are pretty young right now, but I think it’s good for them to see a healthy balance.”
As we reported, Joy-Anna and Austin headed down to Texas to spend Thanksgiving Day with the Forsyths. While they were there, Joy-Anna shared several family photos as they soaked up some quality time together.
In one snap, she and Austin pose for a selfie while hanging out with their family. Both of them are smiling at the camera and she writes, “Happy thanksgiving!”
It appears that Austin might have a can of beer or seltzer in his hand, which is barely in the frame.

In the comments section of a Reddit post about Joy-Anna’s picture, family critics are discussing what beverage Austin could be holding.
One user writes, “He looks like he’s hiding a beer.” Someone else adds, “the stripe across the top looks like a bud light seltzer lol.” Yet another critic chimes into the conversation, adding, “That’s what I thought! I can’t think of another can that is white with a purple bit around the top other than hard seltzers. I am not an expert though.”
Someone else writes, “it looks like he’s holding a beverage of some sort👀👀you never know.”
Unfortunately, we don’t know what Austin was drinking on Thanksgiving, but it seems possible that he was enjoying a beer or spiked seltzer.

I agree with Jill! I’m a born again Christian, and yes, I do have a beer or glass of wine sometimes! I don’t get drunk and I do not hide it from my kids!! They need to see that balance of being able to drink, but to not get drunk!!! Who cares if Austin has a beer or seltzer or soda!!!
I think that what they do in their lives is private. If they have a beer once in while its none of our business. They are adults.
