Elements of Lucasfilm's Scrapped STAR WARS: RANGERS OF THE NEW REPUBLIC Will Be Included in THE MANDALORIAN

A few months ago it was reported that Lucasfilm’s live-action Star Wars series project Rangers of the New Republic was no longer in active development and unfortunately it seems like the series isn’t going to happen.

This is believed to be a series that would have put a focus on Gina Carano’s character Cara Dune, who was introduced in The Mandalorian. That all came to an end when Carano ended up being swallowed up in cancel culture due to some posts she shared on social media.

While this new series most likely is no longer happening, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed that some elements of that series will make their way into future episodes of The Mandalorian. She said in an interview with Empire Magazine:

"We'd never written any scripts or anything on that. Some of that will figure into future episodes, I'm sure, of Mandalorian."

I’m bummed that Rangers of the New Republic isn’t going to happen. But, there won’t be any shortage of Star Wars projects coming our way with upcoming shows such as Andor, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett, The Acolyte, and, of course, more of The Mandalorian!
