Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, defensive lineman Calais Campbell and four cornerbacks are among the 10 Ravens considered questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson, however, was not listed on Friday’s injury report after participating fully in all three practices this week. Jackson, who missed Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears with an illness, is expected to play in the Ravens’ “Sunday Night Football” matchup.
Wide receiver Miles Boykin (finger), offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi (thigh) and rookie safety Ar’Darius Washington (foot) were ruled out. Washington suffered a season-ending foot injury Wednesday and is expected to be placed on injured reserve.
There’s uncertainty on both sides of the ball for the Ravens. On offense, Brown, the team’s leading receiver, was limited all week by a thigh injury that sidelined him in Chicago. Fullback Patrick Ricard (hip/foot) returned to practice Friday as a limited participant. Tight end Nick Boyle missed Friday’s session with a rest/knee designation. Right tackle Patrick Mekari (thigh), who’s also considered questionable, was a full participant in practice Friday for the first time this week.
On defense, cornerbacks Anthony Averett (knee), Tavon Young (foot/knee) and Chris Westry (thigh) were limited Friday and are questionable. So is cornerback Jimmy Smith, who didn’t practice during the week and missed Sunday’s game along with Averett. Defensive tackle Brandon Williams (shoulder), who was limited by injury Wednesday and Thursday and then rested Friday, is also questionable. He hasn’t played since Week 7.
Campbell (concussion) is considered questionable after he missed his third straight practice. All NFL players who have been concussed or shown signs of a concussion must follow a five-step process before being cleared to fully practice or play in an NFL game, meaning Campbell could be activated Sunday despite not practicing.
Coach John Harbaugh said after practice Friday that Campbell’s progress this week has been “encouraging,” but he stopped short of saying he would play Sunday.
“He’s been playing all year, so he probably could use the rest anyway,” Harbaugh said. “He knows what we’re doing, and technique’s not going to be a problem. … Of course, you have to go through the process, and you never can predict that exactly, but I think it’s been very encouraging that way.”
In Cleveland, Anthony Schwartz (concussion) was ruled out. Fellow wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin), who’s second on the Browns in receiving yardage, is questionable along with reserve cornerback Troy Hill (questionable). Starting quarterback Baker Mayfield (left shoulder/foot/groin) is expected to play after fully practicing Thursday and Friday.
