The Polymega's next module will confer Nintendo N64 support on the interchangeable console

Playmaji officially released its long-awaited Polymega "retro console" in September 2021, the approximate date on which it claims units started to reach its buyers. On its own, the device can play media such as CDs and USB drives - however, its faceplate can also be removed and replaced with another containing a slot for the cartridges of various legacy consoles, along with the ports for their controllers as appropriate.

The Polymega had 4 of these on its release: those for Nintendo NES, SNES, Sega Saturn and TurboGrafx/Turbo Duo/SuperGrafx/PC-Engine/PC-Engine Duo. Now, Playmaji has announced the next module in this line: one for N64 games.

This new EM05 Ultra Element Module Set for the Polymega has the requisite slot, as well as 4 ports for the original controller, also compatible with the console's own Ultra Retro Controller, developed by Playmaji in collaboration with Retro-Bit Gaming.

The OEM's CEO Bryan Bernal notes that the new N64-compatible module has been the "most requested" new add-on since the choice offered by the initial 4 had been revealed. According to the Playmaji executive,  "there are virtually no other options out there for playing the whole library legally, outside of the original hardware — so it's an obvious choice for us."

A price for the new alternative to emulation has yet to be announced, however; for context, its 4 siblings cost US$79 each at present.
