Delaware County Council President Scott Alexander launches campaign for State Senate

FROM NEWS REPORTS

MUNCIE, Ind. — Scott Alexander, president of Delaware County Council, has announced he is seeking the Republican nomination for State Senate in the newly-drawn 26th district.

The district is composed of Delaware and Randolph counties.

A Delaware County native, he is owner of Alexander and Company Real Estate Appraisers Inc. and has been serving as an at-large member of the county council. He has, for the past two years, served as council president. “I first sought public office because I was frustrated by the large increases in property taxes that were crippling property owners and businesses and hindering economic development,” Alexander said.

He said the council has improved the county’s financial situation by balancing the budget each year without raising taxes.

A graduate of Delta High School, Alexander studied at Vincennes University and Ball State University. He and his wife Valerie reside on the family farm in Northern Delaware County.
