The Marvels Has Reportedly Wrapped Filming

One of the upcoming MCU Phase Four films is The Marvels, the sequel to 2019's Captain Marvel. Little is still known about the plot details, but the follow-up installment won't just follow Carol Danvers as it will also focus on Monica Rambeau (following the events of WandaVision) and Ms. Marvel (who will be introduced soon in her own show).

Now, according to an Instagram story from a crew member that was shared by The Marvels News on Twitter, it looks like the filming for the sequel has finally wrapped. In the story that was posted, it shows a photo of a crew hoodie with the movie's logo and a signed clapperboard along with the caption, "160(ish) days later and we've only gone and wrapped this up."

If the crew member who posted it was right, it basically means that the film is now heading to post-production and it's just a matter of time before we'll get to see it in theaters. Of course, just like in most MCU projects, there is a possibility that they will undergo additional photography or reshoots sometime before the release.

We should also point out that neither Marvel nor the cast members and the filmmakers have publicly announced that filming has already finished so we should take this with a grain of salt. But The Marvels has been undergoing production for a few months now so it is very likely that they have finished filming around this time. Let's just see if the people involved will publicly post on social media about it.

This isn't the only MCU film that has recently wrapped filming as Peyton Reed, the director of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, has announced recently that they have also finished principal photography for the film. However, that isn't the case for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in which they recently took a filming hiatus in order to give more time for Letitia Wright to recover and they plan to resume by January.

The Marvels is set to be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.
