A Chattanooga organization is hoping for support from the community for Giving Tuesday.

It's the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, November 30.

The day is focused on celebrating generosity.

Rachel Froug, the communications coordinator for Chambliss Center for Children, hopes people consider donating to their organization, which helps kids entering the foster care system.

She said they are encouraging people to donate through a social media campaign.

"We talk to our followers on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter about how they can get involved in Chambliss Center, how they can help us reach our goal, and let them know a little more about the programs we have here," Froug said.

She said they are hoping to recruit new donors.

"We want to recruit 20 new Mr. Phil friends which are people who join a monthly giving program and we want to raise $21,000 which is a really big goal.," Froug said.

It comes as the organization is starting on new projects such as an Isaiah 117 home.

"It's a partnership between a Northeast Tennessee-based nonprofit Isaiah 117 that helps kids who are entering in foster care find a more comfortable transition by allowing them a physical space," Froug said.

Right now, kids are forced to wait for a foster home at the Department of Children Services office.

This wait could be anywhere from a couple of hours to even days.

She said they are expecting to start construction for this project early next year.
