The Premier League resumes this week for Matchday Thirteen. This is the beginning of the winter stretch. There will be 80 league matches from now until New Year’s Day.

Corner kicks have always been a major part of the game. We are now seeing the elite clubs focus more on that aspect of the game despite data showing that teams only have about a 3% chance of scoring off a corner kick situation via theanalyst.com. For instance, all of the top-six teams have some form of a set-piece coach.

The largest impact of this hiring trend is how teams approach the corner kicks. Teams are taking in-swinging corners at higher than normal rates. According to theanalyst.com, four clubs are kicking in-swingers on 60% of their corner kicks, with Burnely leading the movement, taking 91% of their corners in such fashion.

Now that you’ve read my trend of the week let’s jump into my favorite Premier League prop bets of the weekend. All odds are from PointsBet Sportsbook and are reflective at the time of writing.

Best Bet #1 - Sadio Mané Anytime Goalscorer (+100)

Liverpool will look to continue their unbeaten streak at home this season against Mané's old team, Southhampton FC. Since joining Liverpool, Mane has played well against the Saints. He has scored two goals in four of their last head-to-head matches, along with eight total shots.

Mane is also in excellent form this season. He has 14 shots on target this season and seven goals giving him a conversion rate of 50%. The only player with more goals in the Premier League than the Senegalese this season is his teammate Mohamed Salah.

Southampton have been mediocre defensively this season. They have a -3 goal differential and 15.2 expected goals against (9th in the EPL). Jack Stephens, the starting center back for Southampton, has returned to full training after dealing with a knee injury but will most likely still be inactive for the weekend’s game, providing Mané with even greater advantage to put the ball in the back of the net.

If you think Mane will score and want greater odds, you can take him as the first goalscorer at +400.

Best Bet #2 - Arsenal Asian Handicap -1 (-135)

An Asian handicap differs from a three-way spread in soccer. In this instance, if Arsenal wins by two or more goals, the bet will win. However, If Arsenal is to win by just one, then the stake will be refunded.

Arsenal were embarrassed last weekend in their match against Liverpool, but I expect them to bounce back strong against an opponent they have dominated over the last decade, Newcastle United. The Gunners have defeated the Magpies in 17 of their last 18 head-to-head matches, with a goal difference of +30.

Arsenal have been great at home this season. When playing in Emirates Stadium, they are averaging 17.33 shots and 1.8 goals. Meanwhile, Newcastle have yet to have a clean sheet all season and have conceded 27 goals, which is the worst in the Premier League. They are giving up 1.83 goals per away game, equating to a goal against every 49 mins. Moreover, in the games Newcastle have played against the top-eight teams in the table, they are allowing an average of 3.2 goals.

If you think Arsenal will win by two or more goals and find the Asian handicap unnecessary, you can wager on the three-way spread at -1 with +125 odds.
